Brazilian designers create pieces with natural stones for the New York show

Two Brazilian designers will exhibit pieces of furniture made of Brazilian natural stones at the Casa Brasil New York 2022 show, which will take place between May 11th and 25th. The event takes place in parallel to the ICFF (The International Contemporary Furniture Fair), the largest showcase for contemporary furniture design in North America.

The professionals developed exclusive pieces for companies in the national segment that are supported by the It’s Natural – Brazilian Natural Stone Sectoral Project, an export support program developed by the Brazilian Center of Natural Stones Exporters (Centrorochas) in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil). Ludson Zampirolli, from the state of Espirito Santo, and Samuel de Almeida, from the state of São Paulo, are participating in the event with creations cut in materials such as marble and granite that were extracted in Bahia and Espirito Santo, regions recognized as great suppliers of natural stones of great beauty and quality.

Zampirolli, a professional with a long career in the natural stones sector, elaborated the centerpiece in white marble with green inlays in a single cut, produced in three pieces for CF Stone. The pieces are developed with CNC technology, Computer Numeric Control, a system that allows the control of machines, in the processing of the stones by cutting, thinning and lowering from 2D and 3D projects, which are transformed into design and architecture made-to-measure pieces: the centerpiece in white marble with green inlays in a single cut.

Samuel de Almeida is new to the show but has the natural stone sector in his DNA. He brings with him a little of what he learned from his grandfather, the founder of the Caroana stone factory, located in São Paulo. In partnership with the company Pemagran, from the state of Espirito Santo, Mr. Anuel’s grandson developed a set of five pieces, in Verde Vitória hard granite, with different sizes, named ‘It’s One’. Together, the pieces weigh about 355 kg.

According to the manager of It’s Natural – Brazilian Natural Stone, Rogerio Ribeiro, the participation of the companies will be important to promote Brazilian products with high level design. “Brazilian stones are the most consumed in the United States. Brazil is the largest supplier of natural stones to the North American country. Our participation in this show is part of a work that has already been done to show all the capacity of creation, versatility, exclusivity and beauty of our stones”, he reinforced.

The power of Brazilian stones

On May 14th, the Brazilian natural stones sector will be represented during the seminar for specifiers, starting at 7 pm. On that occasion, Fabio Cruz, vice-president of Centrorochas, will make a presentation highlighting all the Brazilian geological diversity and the strengths of the segment. On the next day, May 16th, at 7:15pm, the lecture “Meet the power of Brazilian stones” will take place, given by the international specifier, Paulo Giafarov.

“We can say, without a doubt, that our materials surprise with their colors, textures, patterns and finishing quality”, said the professional who will also highlight, in his lecture, the possibilities of use and creation with the national materials.
