Brazilian exports of natural stones grow 7,98% in the 1st quarter of 2022

The first It’s Natural – Brazilian Natural Stone Management Committee meeting of the year, an export incentive program developed by the Brazilian Center of Natural Stone Exporters (Centrorochas) in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil), took place on April 20th and was marked by a review of the project’s participation in the Coverings 2022 fair, held at the beginning of the month, and an update on ongoing actions. The topics were conducted by the project managers: Emerson Raiol (ApexBrasil) and Rogerio Ribeiro (Centrorochas).

Coverings 2022

With a high level of satisfaction (98.5% were satisfied or very satisfied) indicated in the evaluations recorded by the exhibitors in the evaluation form delivered at the end of the event, the fair marked the beginning of a new moment in the national natural stone sector.

Besides the highlight for the structure of the Brazilian pavilion, the companies pointed out the presence of the ApexBrasil delegation (composed by two managers and three analysts) in all moments of the event. In the presentation of the results to the Management Committee, the board of Centrorochas emphasized the importance of the communication work done not only during the fair, but beforehand, and in partnership with the ApexBrasil team, resulting in a great outcome of spontaneous media. There was also a brief discussion about the points for improvement to be adopted for the next actions.

 

Upcoming Events

– Expense Report

Every six months of the period of the agreement signed between Centrorochas and ApexBrasil, there is a report on the actions developed. By the end of this month, the balance for the second installment will be delivered, including the actions carried out between November/21 and April/22.

 

– Casa Brasil NY/ICFF 2022

Organized by ApexBrasil, in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Brazilian Consulate in New York and important sector entities linked to the housing sector, decoration and construction sectors, the Casa Brasil New York 2022 show will take place from May 11th to 25th, in parallel to the ICFF (The International Contemporary Furniture Fair), the largest showcase for contemporary furniture design in North America.

With more sectors involved and a curator hired specifically for the action, the event’s goal is to promote Brazilian products with high end design, quality, sustainability, and innovation. The Brazilian natural stone sector will be present through companies selected by Casa’s curatorship, which will present pieces made of natural materials and a lecture directed to architects and designers to promote the country and the potentialities of the national segment. This is an important action aimed at generating demand for natural stones that will benefit all Brazilian companies in the segment.

 

– Bond Events – Five Star 2022

An event that connects companies with designers and major architectural firms responsible for the construction of luxury hotels around the world. The event will take place in Nassau, Bahamas, from May 19th to 22nd. The Brazilian natural stone sector will participate through an action carried out by ApexBrasil’s office in Miami. The companies selected by the Agency will participate in business rounds with specifiers, luxury designers, design directors of global hotel brands, directors of leading architectural firms with hundreds of five-star hotel projects.

 

– International strategic planning

After a relationship started at this year’s Coverings, Centrorochas was invited to participate in the first international meeting of the stone sector entities. The meeting will take place in June, in London, and will count on representatives from Portugal, Turkey, Italy and Brazil, with the purpose of developing a common strategic plan for the promotion of natural stones in the United States. The country will also be represented at the meeting by the Natural Stone Institute – NSI.

 

Marmomac 2022

One of the main events of the stone sector worldwide, the fair will take place between September 27th and 30th, in Verona, Italy. Online business round – China 2022

The natural stone sector was selected by the ApexBrasil office in Beijing to participate in an online business round, which the organization of the event will be supported by It’s Natural and Centrorochas. The event is expected to take place in November this year.
