It’s Natural promotes Brazilian stones in the 3rd largest importing market in the world

The third largest importer of natural stones in the world (only behind the USA and China), the United Kingdom will host Casa Brasil London from August 25th to September 7th. This project was idealized by the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil) and is dedicated to reinforcing the positioning of Brazilian products, providing activations and business relationship actions.

Sixth largest supplier of the segment to the land of Queen Elizabeth II, Brazil will highlight all its geodiversity potential during a lecture that will take place on August 26th. The event is promoted by the Brazilian Center of Natural Stones Exporters (Centrorochas) in partnership with ApexBrasil, through the sectoral project It’s Natural – Brazilian Natural Stone and will gather local architects and designers.

The fifth largest producer and exporter of natural stone in the world, Brazil has the greatest geological diversity in the world. There are more than 1,200 varieties of materials. The characteristics of the Brazilian market will be highlighted in the lecture “Get to know the power of Brazilian stones”, given by the vice-president of Centrorochas, Fabio Cruz, and by the international specifier, Paulo Giafarov.

“Besides the extraction potential, Brazil has a large industrial park for the supply of finished and semi-finished products, works of art, design, architecture, among others. The privilege of having large mineral reserves allows for large-scale production to meet demands in large volumes,” points out Cruz. Thanks to the technological production capacity, the Brazilian stones go through modern and environmentally sustainable processes. More than 95% of all water used in the production process is totally reused.

“We can say, without a doubt, that our materials surprise with their colors, textures, patterns, and finishing quality”, emphasizes the international natural stones specifier Paulo Giafarov, who will also highlight during the lecture, the possibilities of use and creation with the national natural materials.

Relationship with the local national federation

As part of the working agenda in London, on August 25th, Centrorochas’ vice-president, Fabio Cruz, the entity’s project manager, Rogério Ribeiro, and the stone specifier, Paulo Giafarov, will make a presentation about the Brazilian stones to the board of the Stone Federation Great Britain.  Besides disclosing Brazil’s geological characteristics and operational capacity, they will highlight the commercial relationship between the two countries.

“The United Kingdom is seen as a strategically important commercial partner for Brazil, since it brings together a large architectural center, responsible for a good part of the new developments in the Middle East”, emphasizes Rogério Ribeiro. The promotion of Brazilian stones in the country can influence the consumption of national products in countries such as Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Qatar.

British imports of natural stones in 2021 will reach a level of 934 million dollars, much higher than in 2020, when approximately 660 million dollars worth of national stones arrived in the UK market. In 2021, Brazilian exports to the United Kingdom increased 25% over the previous year, resulting in a total of 28 million dollars traded between the countries.
