It’s Natural promotes Brazilian stones on the main stage of Marmomac

The lecture “Get to know the power of Brazilian stones” was part of the official calendar of events of Marmomac 2022. On September 30th, visitors of the world’s largest and most important trade fair for supply chain and value of natural stone had the opportunity to participate in the exclusive presentation. The act was carried out by It’s Natural – Brazilian Natural Stone, with support from the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil) and the Brazilian Center of Natural Stone Exporters (Centrorochas).

The manager of the It’s Natural project, Rogério Ribeiro, International Stone Specifier, Paulo Giafarov, and the Brazilian architect and urbanist, Vivian Coser, led the lecture on the potential of Brazil in the ornamental segment.

In addition of having the largest geological diversity in the world, Brazil has a large manufacturing park to supply blocks, finished products, semi-finished, works of art, design, architecture, among others. “Brazil is the main supplier of ornamental stones to Italy. Historically this country has consolidated itself as one of the main buyer markets in the world, positioning itself among the most important destinations of these raw materials. It is extremely important to talk about our diversity of materials and production capacity to deal with large volumes of demands”, said Rogério Ribeiro. Thanks to technological production capacity, Brazilian Natural Stones undergo modern and environmentally sustainable processes. More than 95% of all water used in the production process is reused. Futhermore, the by-products of the beneficiation of stones are increasingly becoming raw material for the manufacture of products from other economic segments.

Brazilian greater participation

Brazil is the main supplier of natural stones to Italy, according to data from Comtrade released by Centrorochas. The data reflected in the high rate of participation of national companies in this year’s edition of Marmomac, which had 40 companies in the Brazilian Pavilion, registering the largest presence in the country in the entire history of the fair.

In the last five years (2017-2021), sales of the Brazilian natural stone segment to Italy accounted for 19.8% of everything imported into the country. In 2021, Brazil achieved the best result of this period, totaling revenues of 103 million dollars.

“To export is not only to sell a product to the international market, but also to take a little of Brazil to all around the world,” said the president of Centrorochas, Tales Machado, during the opening of the pavilion, that was attended for the first time by local authorities. There were the Consul General of Brazil in Milan, Hadil da Rocha Viana; the President of Veronafiere, Federico Bricolo; the Vice-President of Veronafiere, Matteo Gelmetti; Damiano Tommasi, Mayor of Verona; Manuel Scalzotto, President of the Province of Verona; Elisa de Berti, Public Works, Infrastructure and Transport Advisor of the Veneto Region; and the Industry and Services Coordinator of ApexBrasil, Paulo Roberto da Silva.
